Or they can make it non wait? If there are 4 players, they are doing their turns together? They can give at least an option to play with more than 2 if people want to. Multiplayer campaigns require a lot of luck, real effort, and real organisation.
Most people don't have the patience to properly see a campaign through on previous Total War games, except for the hardcore players and history buffs still a combined minority. Because of time per turn PER player, butt yeah otherwise it's the lack point of Total War in general, they should put the option to do so, and player just have to decide if they will do a 2 player game, a 4 player game etc. The game will have factions anyway, cant you do that more than 2 people can play? I do but my friend does not. DLC isn't a barrier to playing together unless you're trying to do co-op vortex as something like the Tomb Kings. Came here to post the above, but it's correct so I'll just echo it. Just, each is limited to their DLC purchases. Head to head vortex, or any type of Mortal Empires campaign, however, it doesn't matter what DLCs either of you have, you'll be able to play. This only matters in a coop vortex campaign, as in that setting you are forced to play the same race. DLCs are only required to play as a specific race, regardless of what you buy, every race and lord will be in the game.
